Lenten Photo Discipline, Day 13: Cover

My Grandmother made each of her grandchildren a hand-made quilt.  This is the one she made for me.  It is my ‘go-to’ cover when I am sick or in need of comfort.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; …I will not leave you comfortless… ~ John 14: 16,18a

It is bird migration season here… for the past week, we’ve seen thousands of birds in flight.  It is interesting to watch the individuals as well as the whole flock.  Very lively!

Upon a darkened night the flame of love was burning in my breast
And by a lantern bright I fled my house while all in quiet rest.
Shrouded by the night and by the secret stair I quickly fled.
The veil concealed my eyes while all within lay quiet as the dead

Oh night thou was my guide
Oh night more loving than the rising sun
Oh night that joined the lover to the beloved one
